Sierra Field TripSierra Welcomes Third Grade Class

Sierra recently hosted a field trip for third graders from St. Francis School in Bakersfield.

Sierra International Machinery President, John Sacco, led the tour along with Sierra Recycling and Demolition manager, Mike Coates, which showed the children the various aspects of how a recycling facility operates. The tour also educated the students on the importance of recycling, as well as the many different types of materials that can be recycled.

It was an exciting event for the children who were able to don hard hats and safety vests for a tour. During the tour, the students saw various pieces equipment that are used to process recyclables as well as cranes and other equipment in operation. They even went away with the knowledge of how may aluminum cans it takes to create a 1000-pound bale.

Sierra would like to thank the parents and staff of St. Francis school for all their help in making this event possible.
