May 12 -- New leaders for the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries have been elected to a two-year term. Taking leadership of the board following an election by the board of directors held during the trade association´s annual conference and exposition are John Sacco, chairman; Jerry Simms, chair-elect; Doug Kramer, vice chair; and Mark Lewon, secretary-treasurer. Sacco is president of Sierra International Machinery of Bakersfield, Calif. In addition to production of scrap processing equipment, his company also operates two scrap processing facilities with divisions in demolition and environmental abatement. He has served in various ISRI leadership positions, including president of the Southwestern Chapter, chairman of the Members Services Committee and chairman of the Chapter Presidents. Sierra International Machinery has developed a baler for the scrap processing industry. The REB 1 is designed to be a "Recycle Everything Baler" for the scrap metal and recycling industries. It will bale ALL non ferrous material including difficult to bale items like stainless steel, wire and radiators as well as OCC, plastics and paper.
