Job Description:
Sierra International Machinery is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented General Assembly Worker to join our dynamic team. The General Assembly Worker will be responsible for assembling and integrating various components to create high-quality balers and shears that meet our strict standards of durability and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Assembly Operations: Perform assembly operations according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Assemble mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components with precision, ensuring proper alignment, fitting, and functionality.
• Equipment Setup: Set up and prepare assembly stations with the necessary tools, equipment, and materials required for each project. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and adhere to safety protocols.
• Quality Control: Conduct inspections and tests to verify the quality of assembled components and finished products. Identify and rectify any assembly defects or inconsistencies to maintain the highest level of craftsmanship.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, including materials used, project progress, and any issues encountered. Provide detailed reports and documentation as required by the company.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and production teams to understand project requirements and provide input on assembly improvements or modifications. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area, following best practices for safe material handling and disposal.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest ideas to enhance assembly efficiency, productivity, and product quality. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback to the team.

Requirements:

• Mechanical Aptitude: Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and components. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Assembly Skills: Experience in mechanical assembly, including the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical assembly is a plus.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure precise assembly, proper alignment, and functional integrity. Ability to identify and correct assembly defects.
• Safety Consciousness: Thorough knowledge of assembly safety practices and procedures. Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
• Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members from various departments to achieve production goals.
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn new assembly techniques and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing.
• Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer applications for documentation and communication purposes.
