Job Description:
Sierra International Machinery is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Quality Control Advisor to join our dynamic team. The Quality Control Advisor will be responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality products by implementing and maintaining effective quality control processes throughout the manufacturing cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Control Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures to ensure adherence to product specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections and tests on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify conformance to specifications. Use a variety of measuring and testing equipment to assess product quality.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection and test results. Prepare clear and concise reports and documentation on quality control findings, trends, and recommendations.
- Non-Conformance Management: Identify and document non-conforming materials or products. Initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address quality issues and prevent recurrence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related problems.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve quality control processes, procedures, and inspection techniques. Identify areas for efficiency enhancement, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to manufacturing personnel on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices. Foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with the supply chain team to assess and monitor the quality performance of suppliers. Conduct supplier audits and manage the resolution of quality issues with external vendors.
- Compliance and Certifications: Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and certification requirements. Support audits and inspections by external entities, providing necessary documentation and addressing any findings.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Six Sigma projects, to enhance overall manufacturing efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Quality Control Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in quality control or a related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Quality Management Systems: Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and their implementation. Understanding of quality control techniques, including statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Inspection and Testing: Proficiency in conducting inspections and tests using various measurement tools and equipment. Experience with metrology, dimensional measurement, and functional testing.
- Documentation and Reporting: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to document and communicate quality control findings effectively.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical mindset with the ability to identify, analyze, and resolve quality-related problems. Proficient in using problem-solving methodologies, such as 8D or DMAIC.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of regulatory and certification requirements applicable to the manufacturing industry. Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Continuous Improvement Mindset: Enthusiasm for continuous improvement initiatives and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing quality enhancements.
- Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer applications for documentation, data analysis, and reporting purposes.
