Job Description:
Sierra International Machinery is seeking a skilled and experienced Industrial Painter to join our dynamic team. The Industrial Painter will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, ensuring the application of high-quality finishes to our machinery that meets our strict standards of aesthetics and corrosion resistance.

Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying appropriate primers. Remove rust, dirt, and debris from surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion.

Paint Application: Apply paint using various techniques, including masking, priming, and spraying, to achieve smooth and consistent finishes. Follow specific instructions regarding color, texture, and thickness requirements.

Mixing and Matching: Mix paint colors and pigments to achieve desired shades and hues. Match existing paint colors and textures for touch-ups and repairs.

Equipment Setup: Set up and prepare painting equipment, such as spray guns, brushes, and rollers. Ensure that all equipment is in good working condition and adhere to safety protocols.

Quality Control: Inspect painted surfaces to ensure adherence to Sierra International Machinery's quality standards. Identify and rectify any paint defects or inconsistencies, such as runs, sags, or uneven coverage.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow established ventilation and waste disposal protocols for paint materials.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of painting activities, including paint types used, color codes, project progress, and any issues encountered. Provide detailed reports and documentation as required by the company.

Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering and production teams to understand project requirements and provide input on paint specifications or modifications. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.

Requirements:

• Painting Expertise: A minimum of 1 year of experience as an industrial painter, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Proficiency in applying paint using various techniques, including masking, priming, and spraying.
• Surface Preparation: Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, including cleaning, sanding, and applying primers. Familiarity with different surface materials and their specific preparation requirements.
• Color Mixing and Matching: Ability to mix paint colors and pigments to achieve desired shades and hues. Experience in color matching for touch-ups and repairs.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure smooth and consistent finishes. Ability to identify and rectify paint defects or inconsistencies.
• Safety Consciousness: Thorough knowledge of painting safety practices and procedures. Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
• Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members from various departments to achieve production goals.

• Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer applications for documentation and communication purposes.
